I used uShip.com to get my car from CA to CO… it’s like eBay… you say I have a widget at point A and I want it delivered to point B… in the case of a GEM car you can call it a golf cart… they’d like a photo… weight… height. width… then the bidding begins… you can set a price for someone to meet or call it off
this guy says he has an e4… no photo… Gem Car x2 one 4 seater and one 2 seater
another 4 seat… http://nh.craigslist.org/snw/4874752620.html
2000 e4… would probably stay away unless he’d come down to $2000… has title

Gem says he doesn’t know anything about the vehicle.
We don’t know that’s how we got it and it runs great!
This use to be his fathers. It looks VERY dirty and needs batteries. My question is. If it needs batteries how do you know it runs at all? How do you know everything else works?
I have a friend in Ohio I helped find a car… we stumbled onto an 05 for cheap in WI… he went to a NAPA store and… I think… borrowed 6 batteries… maybe bought them but anyway he and the seller put the batteries in the car and checked it out… pain but he knew what he was getting… he got the car for less… got it home and his son took it… he’s now looking for another… at $3500 this car is WAY over priced… would not pay more than $2000… batteries will cost between $500-$900… it is a 2000 pretty old… I say that and have friends at Innovation Motorsports who buy that year left and right… they take the car completely apart and rebuild it

looks like he’s an hour away… go look at it
I like the one from PA. Has the doors and looks taken care of. Plus the dealer will negotiate.
me too… it’s an 07 a real plus over the 00… … you can always take the light bar off and resell it… have wished I had a light bar a few times as a safety feature… it has the front bumper… an extra as are the doors and the cigarette lighter… the trunk is big… the floor is warn… you can get a GEM carpet or floor mats at a car parts house… in the left side photo there is a spec on the front door… do you know what that is… he’s asking 4 would he come down to 3… it has plates… are the batteries good is there a service record for it?
here’s a post that I found a few years ago:
What a Difference the Year Makes
Because the exterior look of the cars has remained largely unchanged, it is easy to mistakenly assume that all model years are basically the same. Knowing what has changed over the years will help you make an informed decision–and determine a reasonable price.
When searching for a pre-owned GEM, the most common year you’ll find is 2002. The 2002 vehicle had some substantial upgrades over the 2001 model year, including an upgraded 5 HP motor and a new charger. In years following 2002, GEM made more gradual, but still significant, changes.
Here are some highlights of the hundreds of changes made over the years: In 2003, the vehicles were given a number of braking and charging upgrades. An automotive-style acceleration pedal, improved ride and handling, a new digital display, and easier steering were several of the changes made in 2004. After a major design review by Chrysler’s automotive engineers in 2005, the new Delta-Q charger was added, steering and suspension were both improved, and a number of other enhancements were made. In 2006 GEM introduced many new and enhanced options, including improved doors and bumpers, a stake-back bed, and more. 2006 also marked the introduction of the e6 six-passenger vehicle. Fast charging was added as an option in 2007, and steering effort was again reduced.*
Many people shy away from the earliest vehicles because of the major improvements made in 2002. But some sellers may lead you to believe that their 2001 is really a 2002. Typically, a 2002 vehicle sells for about $1,000 more than a 2001, so make sure you know what you’re buying. Later models sell for somewhat more, depending on the year.
Before you buy a vehicle, verify the date of manufacture on the VIN sticker. This sticker is often located on the inside roof, just above the rear window.
Note the VIN fifth# the model J=shortbed… K= longbed… G=passenger (2 or 4)… 7th# voltage… 3=36volt… 4=48volt…7=72volt…10th# year W-Y are ’98-2000… 1=’01… 2=’02 and forward

They want 3500 for it. I honestly don’t even need the doors. I would only use this during warm weather and never really in public areas. Just an island or a neighborhood.
How much could I get for those doors?
you could probably get between $500–$1000 for the doors

I know I asked are there service records… when were the batteries replaced… do they hold a charge… when do the plates expire…
I’d probably buy this even at $3250… I bought canvas doors for mine when I bought my car… planned to remove them for the summer… never did… I like the security factor… the car isn’t an open car… too many people want to get in… I also think it’s a safety factor… as I think it makes the car more visible… as someone pointed out the hard doors come off easy… and with them on for storage they probably will keep the car cleaner…
