Lee says the VIN is invalid… can you check it again
Bob

I called Tray… the vin was 98 noy 89… gave it to lee to check
Bob
the plot thickens… Lee ran the adjusted VIN and the owner is showing as…
Brian Simms… of Custom Carts
1120 West McGregor Street, Pageland, SC 29728
(843) 672-2440
it would seem to me a dime dropped on Brian may be the answer to the problem… also the car needs the recall done on the emergency brake… no charge… if you get the car take it to a dealer or call Lee and he can send you the parts… the reason for the recall was that (in my case) the motor will over heat…

Wow, great job! I wonder how Brian can obtain title now. I will let those two figure it out. What would be a good deal on this thing? 3500?
$3500 is a good price if Trey will come off his $4000… you might call Brian if you get a quick way to get the title… maybe Trey would come down more… if he can get the title he may just keep the car
Bob
He still has is listed for 5,000 on CList. I bet I can get him to come down to 3,500. I don’t have to buy the damn thing.
he told me he’d take $4000 or you did… again it comes to the title… he isn’t into chasing for it… that’s a plus… Lee said if you buy it there are two ways to go… file for a lost title which will probably bring Brian out in a hurry or file a lean on title which probably would need a bond taken out… I keep hearing of the $500 bond but I also hear it may only cost $25 dollars… first I’d contact Brian saying you know he owns the car VIN 5ASA…
how close to Brian are you if it just a short trip go
Bob

From the seller. This is all so confusing to me. LOL
Only registered with brian in GEM. Reigistered with the state of NC with Alvin linker. All updates were done by GA repair man last july
I’d call Brian and see if he has info on the person he got the GEM car from… there has to be a paper trail… looking for Alvin… think he’s in Myrtle Beach… you may have to dial for dollars
these were the only Alvins in the area… happy hunting

Bob,
You are the Sherlock Holmes of GEMs!!
Al
P.S. I’ve got someone that owes me several thousand dollars and skipped town…are you available to track them down?? <BG> Just kidding, I actually hired a skip trace specialist and they located them and I finally collected most of the money a year later. Only cost me $800 to find, prosecute and collect.
Al… I’m the manager of a school site and have learned to track people… found almost all classes from 1930-1967…school had less than 120 people per class… the early classes were mostly in a marble orchard… it was fun talked to parents… babysitters and then old dates… I use a $$$ pay search for serious searching but this is a $ pay lite search… you have to be ready to spend time and it’s not 100% all the time… woman are the hardest to find as they think they need to change their last names… if you can find an ex or sibling they usually are quick to help… having a classmate who was a PI didn’t hurt

BOB is the BOMB
Realistic price if new batteries.
I’m giving up on the missing title guy in Florence, SC. Too risky. I just sent thees guys over at starautomall.org an e mail about batteries. I don’t see where I would ever use the doors. I guess during cold months?
Looks like a former security patrol vehicle (maybe mall or campus?) and since it’s at a PA dealership, I’m assuming it was used in a “cold weather state”. Doors might be useful in rain as well though I’ve been told the hard doors tend to be “leaky”. It looks pretty decent from the pictures. As noted IF the batteries are “new” and “use-appropriate” (e.g. NOT car batteries) then it’s probably a reasonable asking price. If not figure $1200+ for new batteries and then something for shipping ($400 to $800) unless you can and are willing to go pick it up and trailer it home. I’d probably ask about a valid title as well.

What is a good place to get quotes on shipping? I checked one out associated with ebay and they made you register, which I did not.
I love my doors. I have had them on all winter. They are very light and you only have to pull one pin per door to remove, my wife can do it by herself and it takes about 2 min to remove them all. Get the doors. If you don’t like em sell em. I paid 2000 for my 08’, 1500 miles, with full windows front and rear, all the doors and bad batteries. 1200 ish for new batteries. I got mine from friends so I got what I think was a great deal. Since the same age nice golf cart would have been about 4K+/- that was my target “all in total price” that I would not exceed. Good luck,
