Hello everybody,
I’m starting a conversion for a 1978 Mustang II (fastback) and would like some advice. Here are my planned specs:
2600 lb Mustang II
4-speed manual
2.75 differential
Desired Range: 30-50 miles
Desired Top Speed: 50-70
Driving: Mostly in-town
I’m looking for thoughts on the following:
CONTROLLER-
Zilla 1k vs Logisystems 1000
Logisystems 1000 vs 750 vs 550
MOTOR-
WarP 9" vs ADC 9"
BATTERIES-
120 vs 144 volts
6 vs 8 vs 12 volts
TRANNY
clutch vs no-clutch
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much.

What is the GVW for this model? It should be posted on the door or door frame. The GVW may drive your battery selection more than any other parameter.
IIRC, this is the lightest of the Mustangs and actually had more in common with the Pinto.
Clutch vs no clutch seems to be mostly a personal thing. I am planning a no-clutch 1988 Mustang conversion, but I am comfortable shifting the current 5.0 V8 without the clutch. My Mazdaspeed 3 (ICE), on the other hand is almost impossible to shift without the clutch because of the transmission design.

Thanks Stephen,
It looks like the GVW is 2600 lbs.
