I’m looking to start a 1978 Mustang II project and would love to get some help!
I know it’s been a long time since you posted this, so I am not even sure you will get this but… I Live in Lincoln and have been converting a 1999 Jetta for about a year now. It would be great to talk with someone else here locally.

Just completed a restore and conversion of a 1970 Beetle. 120 volts. 10 US Battery 220 ah Batteries. 100lbs each. Added extended weight torsion bars to hande the extra weight. Motor is 90 hp electric.
I would love to see your conveted VW bug.
