I bought a used direct replacement charger and it is constantly flashing the red caution light on the charger and the Gem dash is not recognizing it when it is plugged in. Any help is appreciated.

As Inwo suggested, Count the blink pattern that you see.
Did you do the install?
Input harness has four wires. Red, black, white, and green.
What did you do with the green wire?
Did you remember to flip the Main Power switch to ON?
The other wire bundle has the J4 6 pin plug that goes to the front of the PSDM electrical panel.

Do you have 12v to acc. That would mean that charger is connected to battery.
If single blink check white wire circuit. I connects to a thermistor in battery compartment.
10k if tested alone with ohmmeter. <3.2v tested in circuit. Front or back.
