2013 GEM e2
Reading through the archives, I see mostly older cars having issues with water fouling the electronics
A few throttles going bad from water, probably leakage where the wires go through the firewall
My car looks to have been garage kept, with the stock rubber sheets over the controller & charger
The throttles on the early Gems go bad because the brushes rear out. Your is solid state and I have never seen one of those go bad .The controllers well get water in them if the seals on f1 or f2 leak, check them and the chargers can get water in them. I drive mine in the rain frequently and haven’t had any problems.
Thanks for the reply
Solid state throttle?
Like the cone & loop sensor on a golf cart?
We don’t really have the rains six inches in the afternoon kind of precipitation
Most of the water I encounter is splashed up
I’ve been driving around in the snow for a week or so, all is good
Handles better than I would expect from a light front wheel drive with 60psi/40psi hard tires
The various schemes to keep the connections dry, seem to work well
I can see why f1 & f2 are susceptible, easy to crack the plastic or move the grommet
