I don’t know how it is for you I’m using a I phone. The pop up adds that you have to close to post content/read a thread are pretty annoying, how effective can they really even be?
I don’t even see any ads on this site. I do know that when I see popup ads on other sites I not only ignore them, but I make is a point to never deal with the company placing the ad. I have a very very long list of vendors that I refuse to do business with because they are annoying. ha ha…
Pythan are you on a PC or a smart phone
Wow, I was considering a similar post in the form of a question as to how to get rid of the adds. How do they even get on a private forum? I agree with you… It is very annoying… Almost to the point of affecting how often I might be inclined to sign on.
only on a PC. I can’t get this thread on my phone… I don’t remember my password… ha ha… Password manager saves my butt every day… LOL
I, for one, welcome our new pop up ad overlords
JarJar ^^^ What Adds are you getting
I mean if it was Pop ups from (gem of miami) or NEV accessories. With deal and specials Sure bring in the pop up adds.
I think he appreciates anything that pops up.
ha ha ha… That’s too funny…
Ok, humor not withstanding… Why are the here. Is it part of the software use agreement? Is someone making money from them? If not how do we get rid of them?
I’m pretty sure that this is how the website makes money cause I know they’re not making money off of me talking about the random stuff that we do add revenue is what keeps this website free for us
It can very well be your Internet Service Provider(ISP) who you purchased the internet connection through. They can and often do inject html into web pages streamed back to your device.
Something to try is to change your DNS( Domain Name Server ) in your WiFi router/access point to use 8.8.8.8 instead of the one your ISP provides. Because every time you click a link or enter a web page it goes to the DNS first and if you use your service providers DNS they got you hookable.
Possibly, but I doubt it. It Only happens on this page. Do you get them? Btw, I am using starlink
odd and no, I don’t get them on Chromium on Linux as you can see from the image attached.
Using incognito mode because I have an ad-blocker on my ‘normal’ mode and it’s turned off in incognito mode:
but I did just get an inline ad to show up after I posted the previous posting. I may have block-pop-ups set on my browser though. Have you tried doing that? ie setting to not do pop-ups?
I’ll give it a shot and see what happens
