Reaching & removing the two batteries behind the seat. Remove fender?

I’m trying to get the back two batteries out from behind the seat.
I removed my stakeback and found and opened the hatch in the back.
This is not for removing the batteries but for access.
I can’t seem to lift them over the metal lip on the floor that holds them in place to push them forward. It’s an awkward position.
It seems easiest to remove the fender, but I see a lot of wires for the brake lights and such. Are there any issues with removing the fender to remove these two remaining batteries and replace them?

Removing the Spat(rear fender) is actually the easiest way to get access to the rear batteries in their tray.

There should be a small white 2x2 plug for the rear lighting harness located under the back seat.

You can also take this time to fully inspect your rear suspension, brake lines, cut out the chain link fence that has been tangled up and dragging around back there since that one night you don’t remember much about…

The day he took the long way home…

@AssyRequired Is this the white plug you are referring to?

That looks like the one.
Unplug it and run around back and see if your lights still work?
Or follow that split loom back and see where it goes.

That was it.
That is the best way to replace those two batteries, especially because of the high lip of the tray and the parking brake and such, to move it forward.
