New Member With a Charger Questions

Just Bought a 2007 GEM e2, 1,300 miles, with 1 Year Old AGM Batteries.

I’m here to educate myself and perhaps one day contribute to the Electric Forum Community myself.

Previous owner said his electric technician replaced the “OEM Charger” with one that is compatible with AGM batteries. Problem being, no-one can come up with a receipt showing the make and model of the newly installed charger.

Could someone tell me where the charger is located so as to hopefully confirm charger make/model?

From what I understand, AGM batteries require a different charge voltage than a GEL or Flooded battery. If that is correct, is there a simple way to verify my charger voltage output?

Thanks

Bend over and look over the top of your left (drivers side) front wheel with a flash light. It may have some small led lights on pending if the key is on and/or the charger is plugged in the cars nose.

Rodney, "The “Really Old Horse Boater” with extra fry’s. should pop in any time to help you. He’s a big shot Moderator here and knows how to fix these things. He likes to “breathe” on his gem (Garlic)?

I’m just a pilgrim here, with barley enough knowledge to be dangerous… I have a 2008 e2. So, I at least know where to plug it in and which pedal makes it go and stop.

Thanks Rascal,

I found the Charger! It appears to be the Original OEM with the following Information on it:
DQTP 720649017088
Part Number 912-7200-01 Charger
Input 100-240V
Output 72V 12 amp/10 amp@100V
BatteryLead Acid 36 Cell
150-400 rpm hr
912-7200 72
QUID Battery Charger

I guess my next question is, Has the Algorithm been set to match my Fullriver DC115-12 (FR31) Group 31 AGM Deep Cycle Batteries.

The best match for my batteries that I can find from a Delta-Q Charger Battery Algorithm List is Algo #126. Can anyone confirm that for me?

I watched a YouTube Video as to how to Check and Change a Charging Algorithms on the Delta-Q QuiQ Charger and tried to post the video URL here but the Forum will only allowed me to post URLs to other sites until I've become an Active Member and have made 5 or more posts.
So could someone else post a video or a place to find the instruction to Check and if needed Change the Algorithm that's compatable to my charger and batteries?

Thanks again

You have a DeltaQ origional equipment charger. It won’t have the 126 algorithm for your Full River AGM’s. You will need to use the Flooded algorithm which is #13.

To see if it has this setting get where you can see the blinking light panel on the charger. Plug the charger in. You will see a blinking light that flashes the code for 11 seconds. you want to see 1 blink pause 3 blinks pause then repeat. if you see 1 blink pause 4 blinks pause you have it set for gels. and will have to have it reset.

What year is your cart?

Been where you are now.I tried all the tapping methods. Nothing worked dq has a software pk that changes the algo and you can add algos I also have AGMs mine was installed by a auth dealer but said dealer left my algo set to gel . now 2 years later having batteries problems.I will be buying 1700 dollars in gels in the spring.

Did you unplug the DC/DC converter when you tried to change the algorithm?

OLD HOUSEBOATER,
My GEM is a 2007

When you say “Plug the charger in” Do you mean the 120V extension cord to the front outlet of the GEM or Disconnect and Reconnect the plug between extension cord outlet and the charger? Also do I need to disconnect the positive terminal on the battery 1st? I read that some where.

Thanks

I’m Hoping I Won’t Need to Change The Algorithm Code!
