Lithium Conversion

G,

those air shocks look tempting . I have a late model and the ride did get a little stiff when all the lead came out . the only thing I don’t like about my cart now is the ride.

anyone know what shocks would fit a 2005+ ?

Mike I know the socks that come on a 2002 are somewhere in the 13.75 eye to eye.
picking a shock that is not designed for that particular application is a guessing game
I would start with the cars extended shock length and try and find a shock that has the same length and then go from there I have absolutely no idea what kind of spring rate the Stock shock has but if someone happened you know that would also be a good piece of information to help you pick a softer shock . One of the major advantages of an air shock is you can increase the spring rate by adding air

Let’s see how it works for Grant.
Maybe grant will send it to you. He wants black one.
I do have another one ready to go. Hasn’t been tested much.
It’s calibrated to read rpms, but has a 20t adjustment pot on the back to re-calibrate to MPH.
Plugs into tach plug at motor or hard wires to red and green.

Most importantly, lest it’s copied, isolated input to allow connection to 12v system.

Here is a potential work around to use new style charger interlock in older cars.
Can I get another opinion?

Thanks to David who came up with this Relay / Innerlock solution. It’s a alternative or add on to chargers that don’t have a GROUNDING innerlock. I will explain it turns out the Deltal Q that’s a direct Replacment for my 2002 Gem can’t be reprogrammed to charge Lithium. In order for you to run a Delta Q that can charge lithium you must run or use a Newer version. These newer versions have a 72volt Out inner lock. The orignal charger my car had used a simple grounding innerlock. Example inside the Zivan (stock charger) same Gos for the older Delta Q when the car was plugged in to 110 power it would simply Open or disconnect the Red&Green to the Green wire. And when u unplug the car from 110 Power it would Close or Connect thoes 2 wires.
The newer delta q that I’m now running has a 72 volt output. not a Ground like I need.
This relay that David came up with fixes that problem as soon as the relay sees 72 volts it opens or closes depending on how you have it hooked. It’s a pretty easy solution. Thank you for figuring this out Dave.

I have all 4 Air shocks on the car, 100% better The car now rides like it should. I like how I have lots of adjustment UP example I have room for lots of air to make the ride stiffer should I pick up a load of people. Only down side right now it that it has to be pumped up via a bike pump back at the house. I’m looking into a son board compressor, made for these shocks

Here is the Fleet at rest. Both cars are NOW Lithium.

hey , were are the lithium stickers ?

Is this it.

LOL;

Mike I only got 1 and it was white. So #1 it was the wrong color and I need to have 2 of them. Let me know if your going to have some more made up in Black!!! I will contribute $

Once again I would like to think Mike. He was the one that convinced me to go ahead with this . He did all the legwork and told me what to buy and where to buy it without his help I don’t think I would’ve ever made the jump . Same goes out to David who always is willing to help out or build something. The two of you have been in valuable resources. Thanks again for all your help

And I can’t leave out my grandpa Rodney. Again another great guy who was always willing to help

Grant,
I hope your conversions inspire more people to do this . it was my pleasure helping you out .

it has inspired me but i have not had the time lately to finish it up, i have it up and running but need some fine tuning and things, why did you got deltaq route instead of zivan?

I couldnt find anyone with the charge profile that would or would load on to a zivan

This is as close as I got with your timer. From your picture.

Verify the part number.
KSPS P2 rest doesn’t matter.

P2 is + plus
N2 is - minus
