I’m new here and looking at a couple of used gem cars. I prefer the e4 but may go with a e2 that needs some repairs. Is there any model years to stay away from? Has anyone use lithium batteries in a gem car. I heard that charging them is a lot more dangerous due to the heat they put off.
If you buy the e2 you will buy an e4 later. Li batteries are the ultimate but you will also have to buy a compatable charger. Lots of money for both. The e2 is a fun package and a lot more nimble than the e4 but you will find passenger limitations wanting if you have more than one friend.
I have just gone thru the transition from a 2 seater to a 4 and it cost me money. Even if you have to finance it’s better to only buy 1 car.
