Hood modification after lift

I have a 2008 e4. Just finished a custom lift. Added 3" height and 1" forward. Now i need to modify the hood hinge to the original body lines. Im also considering a removable hood with pins instead of hinges. Can anyone share info or photos on their hood modifications after lift? TIA

I’m working on the same thing.
I am looking at doing a quick release hood now that I have removed the hinges. I have been under the hood so many times that I have grown to value full access to everything under the front more than a partially tilting hinged hood that was always in the way.

Let me know what you come up with. I was thinking maybe just modify the hinge with a quick release as the pivot. Then install a water proof connector for the front wiring. This way i can just pull it open for quick access or remove completely when doing major repairs.

I drilled & tapped a chunk of 1 1/2" x 1" aluminum, it acts as a nut & washer
Not quite quick release definitely only need one Torx bit on my 1/4" impact to remove or install

I have said many times, one of the great resources of this forum is the archives. It is filled with decades of possible solutions and tips from legendary members that may not be monitoring these forums any longer.

Note when you start your own topic, down at the bottom the AI includes some suggestions for other readers that may be of help.

This one from 2019 looks like it would help out a lot.
