Ok I’ll hold off shipping Rodney the Transmission.
The transmission I have and am running in my 2016 right now is a set of 12:35 Gear, that I bought from Rodney and he installed them.
Should be same ratio as R4F right?
Check you FB messages.
I’m 99% sure the R4F gears are 12:35 just like mine. And the ones R4F offers as High Speed gears are 9.3
@grantwest
Were you planning on switching 12.3 for 9.1 gears?
If so I need a set of 12.3. I can send Rodney a set of 17.1 instead to switch out for you.
Sorry. This is all confusing at this point
MikeKC: I’m sending my 12:35 to Gabe
Grant is trading his 12:1 for a dana 10:1 with shafts.
I think.
Gabes 6:1 dana on the way to Scott. No shafts.
I have a new Comex 8:1 gearbox here that needs shafts built to fit new gem. 18 spline cv joint here Fri. To see if it fits.
If it does I will need solid shafts to see what fits the new cv joint.
If you need new axle shafts these people make custom shafts

They sure do $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
INWO Retains the input shaft.
Who ever gets this transmission please send it to me. I have never heard this whine before. How fast was it run before whine started? Was oil level correct?
Did it ever overheat? This unit was built as a quiet replacement for a TRIM unit.
It’s a 10.35 gearbox which is the perfect ratio for current GEM cars

My idea is to use the same shafts and use a 18 to 22t adapter
Something like this
https://splineshop.com/product-category/spline-adapters/
There is a company that makes custom adapters too.
But we only have one set for that. We need to find something that fits.
Oem Polaris shafts, the new Comex are almost the same size of the TEAM the only difference is that the output is 18t I think oem is 22t
Am I missing something?
Not if it works. I dont have a sample oem shaft.
Studied this big time, the adapter you need isnt made.Likewise an off the shelf splined shaft. Did a lot of trial and error and found out joining 2 pieces with the proper splines with a tube is the easiest way. The trick is doing this safely and livable with the torque you will apply, After 4 different tries we came up with a shaft that doesn’t break Contact me if your interested.

Here are the two beautiful half-shafts that I had made here in KC. As it has been repeated enough times, they are .75" too short. But they are sweet in any case.
Both equal length?
I never noticed the gearbox is centered in the new cars.
Splines look the same one bothe ends, yes?
Ps. Curious, are they tubes or drilled round stock?
Very beautiful indeed…
…i think im getting wood
I believe they are round stock as he put the original ends on, but I will have to verify. I never actually looked that closely.
