Not a bad idea. In the past some companies have bought new “glider” cars direct from the manufacturer to convert to EV’s. That process would be much quicker and easier than waiting for people to show up with donor cars.
These professionally created cars came and went. Perhaps now is the time to give them another try. High gas prices and peak oil are much more permanent than the fluctuations of the markets in the 1980’s and 90’s.
