Help making an ev in Europe!

Hello,
I live in France, and I want to buying an electric car.

I’ve decided to create a “locost”(kit car), and it’ll have similar lines of the Lotus Eleven 2. UK is a great place to get parts and help, so that is not the problem.

The problem comes down to the electrical system. The only site that caught my attention is http://www.everything-ev.com/.
From that site I was thinking of getting the AC kit for 1400kg vehicules. Wire 96V to it with the 8 12v batteries of 68Ah.
So that means I have could do 20-30miles on a charge, ((96V*68Ah)/(between 200-300WH/mile)).

So really the questions are, are there any other sellers, would it be better to buy batteries at my local shop (so if they go back I could just change them easier?), are Odyssey good? Anything cheaper?

Thanks for the help y’all!

Nobody knows?

Picking batteries looks like the hardest part of the whole project.
You’re balancing cost, weight, average number of lifetime cycles, and
voltage.

You might find this interesting, if you haven’t seen it already:

Life cycle can be taken care by buying batteries locally , it’s cheaper and if they fail there is warranty(just replace them).

Weight seems to be at 280Kg for 8 batteries. 4 on each side of the car to balance everything.

Voltage, I need 96V, so 8batteries * 12 volts should do it.

Are there some types of batteries I should avoid? Or brand?

But what is worrying me is the cost of the AC motor kit $9K, in the US it is so much cheaper. And they don’t list a brand ( everything-ev.com ).
And I’m trying to find another supplier.

Ya, I have seen it before; but they are located in the States, and I emailed them the other day for a shipping quote. And it got expensive…
