While inspecting my 2011 ES half-shaft assembly, I noticed on the inboard side, there is no circlip holding the bearing in place. Most CV joints have a large circlip that you must remove to get the inner bearing out but mine came straight out of the housing when I pulled on it to remove it from the transmission housing. After cleaning out the grease, i noticed that there is no recess in the housing that a circlip would fit into. Is that how it was designed? The outboard side did not have a circlip either so I was not able to remove the bearing race from the shaft. How would you remove that bearing? Most of the drawings show clips on both ends that must be removed in order to extract the bearings.
