Hi,
I have a 2003 GEM e825 and it runs smooth, no sounds…love it. My neighbor just purchased a 2004 (not sure what model, but it does have a factory box on back), the person that sold it to him showed him a receipt for a new transmission, it was a dealer in FL, however his makes a real loud grinding sound when driven…any insight? My gut guess is a bad GEM dealer, as he said sound is common. Thanks
Wheel bearings make that sound. Jack it up and check wheel bearings for slop by getting the tire off the ground. Pull and push top and bottom of the tire to check for slip, it will be obvious if there is slop. Also leave one tire on the floor and spin the other by hand, this will check some of the other parts like trans gears and velocity joints…
Thanks, will try that…makes sense.
