Can I mix a new battery in

I have a 2000 E2 , I have 6 Trojan 30xhs batteries that are 3 years old. One died (10.9) volts after charging and sitting 1 hr or more. The rest are 12.66 to 12.73 after charging and then sitting overnight. Locally I can only find a trojan T-1275 battery. If I swap this out with the dead one how will the Delta Q charger handle the mismated amp ratings. M
The 30xhs are 130 ah @ 20hrs and the T1275 is rated at 150 ah @20hrs. They all are 12 volt

Thanks in advance of any help with this.

Sure, you can actually do anything, but your results are probably not going to be what you expect. IMO- it is a plan, but not the best plan.

Consider it a band-aid/patch.

It will buy you some time, maybe get you through the holidays, and maybe a credit card payment or two after. Long term, it will probably not end well as your Trojan 30’s are showing signs of aging out.

Beyond simply charging and letting them come to resting V overnight, you might want to do a load test to see how well the remaining batteries are doing. This is the other info that is missing from your original post.

The Delta Q charger (or any other charger) actually has no idea what it is connected to other than it is a pack certain capacity and voltage. The selected profile adjusts how it runs.

When all the batteries play nice as a unit, this system works well. All batteries stay in balance, all charge and discharge as one big battery pack.

Unfortunately, (due to slight manufacturing differences) one battery will fall out of step. A little difference is not noticed because the other batteries can make up for it. After a while this little difference becomes a big difference. This is the importance of pack balancing. If not caught, the other batteries are now working harder. You might notice this as the car feels not quite as peppy. What you are not seeing is that your weak battery is now dipping below 50% SOC on a daily run. At this point, the pack is now cascading into total pack failure.

Thank you for the response.
I did do a load test on the all of the batteries and they all did well. Just the one bad one, didn’t load test it because it was showing such a low voltage.
I recall once a few months ago the cap for 3 cells was not on and had lost some water and exposed the plates slightly. I feel as though this led to a premature failure on this battery.
I have abandoned the idea of using the 150ah replacement and getting the correct replacement.

Thanks again for the input.
