C/V joint or bearing bad?

I have a 2002 Gem e825 that is running really rough and is making noise from the front passenger side wheel. I jacked it up and noticed grease on the outer boot and a crack in it i can feel a little play when I move the shaft or turn the wheels. Is this possible the c/v joint or the bearing? If i replace the shaft where is the best place to buy. I can handle most repairs and have all the tools but I am having a hard time finding a service manual. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve heard that bearing failures are common.

The more I read up on it it seems to be the c/v joint. I am still looking for the service manual for a 2002 Gem anybody?

90% bearing probability - CV joints make clicking noise

I thought with a crack in the boot it might be more c/v than bearing. The wheel has no play in it when I try to move it. I will have to get into Tearing apart the wheel and get up close and personal lol with it.
