P3 should go to neg72 volts when accelerator is pressed.
Tested from +72 volt reference. (Battery plus or P2)
P=pins on 23pin connector on controller.
Code 5 means, accelerator pot is working before switch makes.
It would be safer testing at acc… Look for bad switch or wiring from acc. to controller.
Or something under pedal, but that throws a different code.
These late model accelerater boxes get contaminated internally. If you do everything else and no fix, Grind off the fasteners open the box and clean the tracks the wipers touch. Look for crap between the tracks. This is a common problem. I think there is a post in the DIY sub forum on this.
