ANVIL 7.5kw motor like the 8kw Kinetek

Sounds good.

From what I am reading a USB cable only has 4 wires so there has to be some that are doubled up.

If thats the case I can build the cable and will be in good shape to play around to try and program one of these things.

Adding the loops is easy too.

I was incorrect. I have the programming plug.
Four wires and two loops.

Only four wires terminated at the usb end.

Sweet.

I am going to play with my controller and if i can get the PC to work on it I will let you know.

Then we can play with programming one of yours.

If you unplug the 4 pin are the red an black in the square pins. This picture just has it rotated opposite.

It is the same part number. so it is likely the same.

Yes, mine is the same pin out colors and locations as yours.

I am just messing around with my PC to get the USB drivers to work with the dongle.

This tech is so old compared to the new computers

Create a VM with win 7 or xp

I was able to get the software running and able to see the programming cable under Windows 10. I was just never able to power the correct place on the controller to get it to talk.

I just sent the controller and programming cable off to another person to attempt communication with an Anvil and spare controller.

The dongle is on loan and should be available to others in time.

I put in a new controller and now the Anvil runs but only after i give it a slight push to get started. Any idea what could cause this. I ordered a new speed controller to see if that helps.

My windows 10 cannot detect the drivers even though the dongle shows up as a device.

The cables on My Anvil to hook up to the dongle are much different than what is in the instructions so no sure what the right wires will be.

I just know that USB is only 4 wires. 2 communication and 1 power and 1 ground

Speed sensor not controller

Were did you get a new controller? Did you load one or find a used one?

Tomberlin directly had one.

But it only works if i turn the rear wheels manually after I Jack it up or let it roll when its on the ground.

I may just rip it out and put in a Navitas Controller and Motor

That will be kind of underpowered.
Anvil oem motor will push 50mph.
I have a replacement Sevcon controller, If you can wait a few day for a client to test it.
It’s been a few years since I did my own, so I’m seeing if it can be diy.
Otherwise, if you are near someone with dvt, they could help.

Any idea why it would behave like this. If the new controler is good then its either the motor or speed sensor.

Everything was fine then after a week sitting in the garage it just jerkwd a few times then nothing until i put in the new controller.

Might be throttle pot if it’s only super slow.
It would lurch slightly but not develope any torque.

I was thinking the same but if i just slightly roll it with my foot or am on an incline the Anvil with get up to full speed and drive fine.

Its just has to get 1 tooth past the speed sensor and then it will spin
