I don’t know the colors. We need 12v switched going to my brown and blue wires. They connect to controller relay coil.
Maybe it is the switch. You are measuring from the switch. Is tap ok? Measure from there.
I can re-tap.
Isn’t the bus bar a different circuit? One powered off the DC to DC converter, other the aux battery?
Do they all share a common ground. Could be a silly rookie question
Everything is common grd…
Where did you test the key switch 12v from?
Does this thing have two converters?
Is something overloading one of the DC converter and it is power cycling?
Has an aux battery for starting. Then dc converter comes on to power car and charge battery.
Connects the two sources together.
Let me know where 12v got lost between key and my blue wire. Then better call it a night.
Ok… I’m a dummy. The spade connector didn’t lodge correctly and the insulation was hiding it. Found out the orange wire to the switch is the hot side. When I connect to blue, the contactor kicks in. Display doesn’t turn on now.
I can go to the red side if that will make a difference.
That’s where I disappeared to… was trying to find a wiring diagram.in the service manual which would show the key switch. For the life of me, didn’t find it in any diagram!
Yes go to the switched side.
Blue wire only powers controller. Car should still turn on without blue connected. As before, with key, unless something has changed.
Key turns on car.
Blue wire powers Sevcon. Through relay.
Key switch is top middle on diagram.
One wire from aux battery and other to vcm.
See what else is wrong. Mine did that too, may clear after a charge cycle.
Should run unless vcm shuts down throttle 5v supply.
I’m perfectly happy to stay up… but you’re 2 hours ahead. We can pick this up in the am if you want.
Also… I’m getting a bunch of clicking the the display cycles on and off
Yes pick it up tomorrow.
The clicking is something new.
If disconnecting the Sevcon tap fixes it, might be the baud rate issue.
See you tomorrow.
Goodnight and thanks. I’ll take some video… hopefully this damn cricket in the garage isn’t too loud so you can hear it
I’m in the same time as you Ernie, came a few days to Vegas that’s why I’m still awake lol. I’m reading all the messages but I don’t post to much to avoid going back and forth.
My thread was +400 messages so you’re fine
I’m just here for comic relief.
Got some videos. The first one is with the blue wire tapped into the red/switched side of the key switch. Turn it on, the SEVCON comes to life and I get a solid green on the status indicator. I get a battery low indicator and the system seems to power off and reboot every 1-2 minutes.
Here’s the the blue wire disconnected. Obviously the Sevcon does not power up, but I get an expected high voltage and the car stays powered on.
