Very frustrating 2015 brake issue. Have leaking rear wheel brake cylinder. Only solution per Polaris and several gem suppliers is to replace the entire assembly —- at a cost of $300+. The individual wheel cylinder which usually costs less than $20 dollars is not available, and Polaris cannot or will not give me a mfg and part#. Earlier models had the individual cylinder available. Also, Polaris customer service sucks, exceptionally unhelpful. Wish I had a contact in Gem/Polaris management to complain to.
Trying to find alternative part to substitute, the earlier cylinder does not fit at all. Any suggestions? TIA.
Unfortunately the 2014+ model Gem, Polaris switched from the Chrysler era brake drums. They also implemented their own ball joints, carrier bearings, accelerator pedal, brake pedal/rotors, control arms, and other minor tweaks the year prior. They are more robust but aftermarket parts are difficult to find since they only sell assemblies on certain parts. You can take the brake cylinder apart and see if an automotive store like napa or online sells the seal kit, not sure.
Hi
