Current Progress

From the back.

From the front.

Finally got some more painting done. Been dreading doing this front piece. Im happy with how it turned out though.

looks good! nice color.

Thank you! The blue color is Chrysler’s Dodge Viper Blue and the Black is Range Rovers Santorini Black. They both have flake in them so they really look nice in the sun.

Thanks for the inspiring post, I’m going to be doing mine soon.

I just re did my Gem Car. I may be able to help you with my process of what I did but I may have some questions of my own.

Does anyone know the code -04? Also I have some questions on that black and purple wire too and the black grounded one…

Hey zneff,
Don’t know what year your Gem is, I know some codes are different on different years. on my 05 the manual doesn’t even show an 04 code, but the list that Daniel posted here on the forum shows…
04 park brake on (normal condition) safety lock out release park brake.
If your parking brake is on or the switch is faulty or misaligned your car won’t go.
Wish I could offer more help on the wiring, but I haven’t gotten into that yet. Hopefully someone else will jump in with that info for you.
Cheers,
John

It was the parking brake. Too tight!

WOO HOO! Glad to hear it. now go have some fun! :thumb:

If you measure the DC voltage, it should be 12 VDC, if so these wires are for a 12 VDC external supply, like a cigarette lighter socket. I believe that the mfg. put that in for that very reason. But I would check further and see if this circuit is fused and what kind of current can it handle, if there is a fuse for it then the value in amps will tell you what it would be good for.
