Rodney, did you ever get one made?
If I made a few, it would save time.

Dave

I found the one I lost. Note I can send it to you to copy if you want. Kit also includes (1) jumper wire to connect P2 to P21 on the 23 pin plug.

That would work.
If I make 3 or 4 should be able to get the cost down.

Here is pin to pin. Except p9 (12p)goes to p7 (8p).
Are there two jumpers on the 12p?
7-12 & 10-11

Dave

Did anyone ever suggest that you don’t have any patience?

Rodney

Hurry up! Times a wastin.

Does this look right? Not the colors!

Dave

No Jumpers

Rodney

Ok thanks,
How about this for pin 2 to 21 ?

Do you have a programmer or Sentry sw ?
Ask because I could easily add a programming port for Sentry.

Negative

This is a single wire with a pin for the #21 hole on the 23 pin plug and a “quick attach” on the other to tie it to the #2 wire coming out of the plug.

This replaces the motor temp switch in a T2 and D2

I guess I don’t have to send the sample.

Rodney

Thanks,
Think I’ve got it!
This should do the same thing.
A new pin for 2 and 21. Old #2 connects to male tail.
I don’t trust quick connects. Insulation piercing type?

I don’t have the sentry software yet. That’s probably coming down the pipeline. An additional programming port would be awesome.

Uhuh

BUT:

The average owner doesn’t know how to take the 23 pin plug appart. he will just shove the pin in the #21 hole until it works.

If he attempts to pull the #2 pin out of the hole without releasing the lock yada yada yada

Better to go with the quick connect. Yes to the wire insulation piercing type.

While your at it make a copy of the proper procedure to place/replace a pin in the 23 Pin connector and include it with each kit.

Rodney

No way for me to test kits.

mski needs one, but untested doesn’t work for him.

ps.
May have found a way!

If you think you got the wiring right, I’ll take one and try it out.

I have a cable tester for 8p and 12p cables.
I just had to connect them together.
That and Rodney’s information leads me to believe it will work.

Many thanks to Inwo for a professional 8-12 cable build and Old Houseboater for his sage advice. I haven’t installed it yet. Will post a follow up.

Thanks Dave. I installed the cable today and it worked perfectly. No problems. The only hangup was the splitter that you made from pin 2 to 21 wouldn’t fit with two wires crimped into the base. I couldn’t get it to seat properly in the connector. It’s possible I could’ve forced it but I was afraid I might never get it out again if I had problems with it. The extra male/female wire you sent was helpful. i just connected it to the Y splitter to pin 23. Thanks everyone.
