T1-T4 testing

Kicking this around.

Break-out board for testing GE controllers.

Plug between harness and control.
Leds indicate active inputs.

It’s a bear to check voltage without messing up wiring.

Nice idea but no market.

Never stopped me before.

I’ll just do a one off to test.

Handy for techs and serious hobbyists

Got sidetracked now. Someone just took 2 hrs looking at my boat.

Just need the other 23p plug.
Have every thing else.

Could put numbered male pins on the other end and it would be ready to go.

Two days I should have the socket.
Too late to help Grant I suppose.

Any mistakes and I’ll be sending my controller in.

Started testing today, even before parts came in.

A few minor bugs, but should work out.

Left leads long enough to read thru windshield.
Leds come on as switches are toggled.

Not very pretty!

Who wouldn’t want a gadget with blinking lights!

Ever see this box before, Rodney?

I’m in deep now!

Works so nice that I’ll have to make a couple more.
Pretty easy next time with a pcb.
Then I’d get rid of the octopus.

One last test, all checked out super.
Even the brake switch input on pin 13, which is not used on T4.

Led 1 and 2 come on with key. (different with T1)

Led 3a and 3b verifies accelerator switch. (T1 or T4 type)

Led 4-5-6 show road/turf/rev switch positions.

Led 9 show accelerator. voltage to pot and Led 7 gets brighter with throttle.

Led 11 verifies M.C. output from T1 and T2.

Led 12 from regen-not working yet

Led 13 shows brake switch release.

Led 14 goes on and off with tach signal.
Led 15 verifies tach power from control. 12vdc

Led 17 M.C. operation on T3 and T4

Led 21 checks motor thermal switch.

Got the boards in today. Unfortunately, I seem to have lost interest.

There aren’t enough serious hobby people around to make it worthwhile. The dealer guys just swap out the controller which has a fix rate somewhere north of 80%…

You warned me. Just can’t help myself…

ps. it is a programmer/monitor interface also.
