New DeltaQ Charger Wiring Different from original

QUESTION REMAINS: do I still need the 16ga wire coming off the neg post of my battery going to the (-72v) terminal on the PSDM?

What batteries are you still using?
Are you using a temp sensor?

I am in the process of removing the AGM batteries, cleaning everything up and will be replacing them with lithium. I understand they don’t require a temp sensor.

OK, Then no.
You don’t need those wires running back there.

My goal is to make my 2005 Gem e2 the sharpest and fastest Gem in town, turn everyone’s head as I go down the street, should be pretty easy since its the only one in town. I do get a lot of attention when I park it beside the oldies at our car shows we have at the bank parking lot.
I’ll post everything I do with pictures in hopes of getting other to join in the sheer joy of driving these things, the future for them has just gotten a huge shot in the arm with this economy we’re in and the help from you guys.

Good afternoon folks…hoping to revive ‘The Green Wire’ chat again in hopes to understand a bit more.

Long story…condensed…

  • Bought a 2005 EL that was owned by Delta-Q and used to build their prototype charger
  • charger died but they offered me a newer replacement at cost…922-7254.
  • I have managed to get everything working and converted with exception of the Green wire, the new charger has a 8 pin Deustch connector and I know to use Pin 3 & 5 but not sure which one is the green wire 3 or 5 and really don’t know what the other wire should be?

Any help is appreciated!

Green wire is pin 8

Wow…I would have never have gotten that! Thank you…Just tested an it worked!

Interesting choice for a replacement.
This 7254 charger has the DC Converter built in.
Have you figured out how to hook it up and remove your Surepower Converter?

Delta Q had already done that when they used the cart for R&D so I did not have too

If only there were a battery charger compamy that you could call…
