Motor shuts down

I have a 2000 GEM 2 seater. When I push on the accelerator, there is a loud click and the motor stops. The BDI (instrument panel) also goes blank. The batteries proceed to discharge rather quickly. You can let off the accelerator and everything comes back on but shuts down once the accelerator pedal is engaged… The code that comes up on the BDI is -11. The service manual talks about the pedal being pushed when the ignition is turned on. This is not the case. It also mentions it could be a defective emergency brake microswitch. Anyone know where this microswitch is and how to replace it. Any help would be appreciated

I solved my own problem. It wasn’t the parking brake microswitch or the accelerator petal/potientiometer as the owners manual implies. It was one bad battery. It would charge up 12.4 but wouldn’t hold a charge. When you mashed on the accelerator the voltage would drop quickly from 72.4 all the way to 20. Thats when it would cut off.

So, is there only one way to replace the battery with the new one? What do you think?

Everything we read says you have to replace all 6 batteries which I can’t afford at this time. We replaced just the bad battery. Now it charges up perfectly and holds the charge.
