I have a 2022 Ford Think (pick-up version) with the DC converter missing, including the harness connectors that connect to it. Would anyone know how I can determine which version I need to purchase? From what I can see, the converter mounting plate has 4 holes. And the wire harness has 17 wires.

I also need the connector that plugs into the motor. Would appreciate if anyone knows the connector brand and model number.

Yikes! That is not the Dc Converter harness. It looks more like someone robbed the motor controller AND the plug for it. (who does that?)
The little harness (pictured) looks like the Speed sensor and temp wires/harness. Plug missing too.
You picked a heck of a project to get your feet wet on. Did you know what you were getting into with this car?
One other rare item this car will need is called the “Cluster”. That is the dash/display and controll module for this car. Do you at least have one of those? (or is there an empty hole in the dash?)
Hopefully there is a great story behind the acquisition of this car, and most of it involves the words cheap/super deal/found it in a barn.
The next phase is going to rely heavily on few things…
- What is your intent with this car?
(campground runner/ice cream getter/mailbox runner, full on street ripper?)
- What is your skill set?
- What is in your toolbox?
- How fat is your wallet?
Since this car is (probably) missing most of what it takes to motivate this car(guessing), it may be a good candidate for an AC drive transplant. DC is so outdated.
Lucky for you, as you stumbled on this group.
Thanks for the responses. This is 1 of 3 Thinks we own. Originally only owned one (4 seater) but found a deal for two more that couldn’t be passed. Main reason for purchasing is to get my teenage son involved with a mechanical build that will require some failure analysis and debugging. The plan once it’s drivable is to use as a local store and mailbox runner. The hope is to get it back to “like new” condition.
I have a cluster from another Think I can use to test with until I purchase another one. I also have a motor ready to drop in.
My toolbox is full of tools including a Fluke DMM, but no SW equipment. If I were to use a combustion car as example, I would say I can repair ancillary parts of the motor but probably not rebuild a motor.
You’re right. It’s the motor controller.
Might be easier just to buy another harness. Ebay usually has some for sale. For the cluster look into Fordthink.org. They make an updated cluster that works pretty well for half the price.
I saw the aftermarket cluster from Fordthink.org but it shows out of stock at the moment. And, they said it determines speed by GPS which I’m curious if it will have a bit of a lag? Regardless, it looks like a nice upgrade from the OEM cluster!
The only issue with that cluster is it takes a minute or two before it connects to gps. So if you turn the disconnect switch on and jump in and start driving it doesn’t display mph until it connects. Other than that it works great.
