Hey Thanks to Mike M for all his help with this project he has spent lot’s of time helping me with this project. Example we made this drawing and were sharing it back and for just so he could school me on what wires went wear. What you looking at is a crude drawing on how current flow’s in relation to the balance port reader
G,
have u installed second pack yet ?
Mike the pac is in the car but not hooked up as of yet. I’m gonna order another battery for a new car I just picked up
that looks like the factory did it
Refresh my memory.
I have the Neg- coming off the New Lithium battery and going directly to the Controlers Neg-
I have the Batterys + POS going to the Main Contact. The other side of the main contact go’s to the controllers +
The new delta Q has Red. Black. Green. White and idea how these wires hook up?
I’ll have to figure it out.
Pulled my DQ. Now I need it to run.
One is an interlock, and one temp. sensor.
I think.
Found it…
G,
when u upgrade a deltaq the white wire becomes a charger on/off . it would be used if u have a bms or high voltage cutoff . the white wire needs to be hooked to the neg. on your battery pack . ( lithium doesn’t need a temp sensor) the green I believe is the interlock so the car wont move if the charger is plugged in . u need to find out were that would go on an early car . doesn’t the zivan charger have one ?
Zivan has a pair of male connections in the top of the case. DQ, Quick Charge, adn RFF have a pair of wires.
Ok I’ll do some reasearch of where the 2 interlock wires go on my ar that has a Zivan. I believe one go’s to the positive and one go’s to the beg side of the controller or a wire in the harness butbinwill double check to make sure.
I checked the Green wire coming off the charger it had 80 volts coming off it (and the charger was NOT plugged in)
White will go to the Neg side of the battery. I have the factory gem Resistor that go’s to the Neg side of the battery. I’ll hook that white wire up in line
I’ll find out where green go’s must go to the POS side of the controller or some where in the harness
From what I had from my old charger I had 2 wires coming off my charger that made the inner lock work. One was Green, that went to the neg - side of the controller. And Red that came off the harness of the car. I’m guessing green on the charger will go to the Red of the car.
The green is +72 volts normally.
When charger is powered green goes open.
Charger will work without green connected.
You just have to make the car run without interlock.
If Zivan car needs a jumper to run, you will need to add a relay or jumper wire.
Caution If I REMEMBER RIGHT, GREEN IS A NO CONNECTION TO ANYTHING. (Could be wrong ) Check me out before you connect it to anything.
What is the model #? I may have a manual.
There was a warning in the instructions NOT to connect it in normal installations.
If you want to bypass the interlock just connect the 2 wires that plug into the Zivan interlock terminals together.
Correct, I just disconnected and bypassed my DeltaQ.
The green supplies B+ thru a nc contact in charger.
If you want an interlock connect to relay.
Here is my problem.
The key on my car is not responding or working.
When I take the green lead that is used for the cars
timer (it’s the device that keeps your lights on when the key is turned off for a set period) it used to go to my chargers inner lock and when I ground it the car lights up and I can make the car function. Grounding that one wire seems to turn Everything on! So I guess I’m some how jumping or bypassing or overriding the key or jumping the system. Any thoughts on how to correct this?
I have a delta q in the car but to avoid more confusion at this point I don’t have any of its wires hooked up. Or is part of my problem does the charger need to be hooked up to help ground the system???
These are some mistry wire I don’t know where they go to
1- A Red wire with Brown stripe coming off harness that used to connect to the inner lock on my Zivan charger (what does this wire do) or more importantly what should this wire go to now.
-
Green wire that comes off the harness and go’s to the controller Neg and the branches off to connect chargers inner lock.
-
Green wire coming of the cars timer. When this wire is grounded it makes the car light up by over riding the cars ignition
Here is the Red&Brown lead that comes off my harness that used to go to my Innerlock.
The green comes off the harness and go’s to the controller’s B- and then it splits and comes up with the red spade on it. Again these wires used to connect to my chargers innerlock
I have no information on Zivan chargers.
I can look it up.
Do you know where the 3 wires connected to Zivan? Pin numbers? NC-C-NO?
What voltage is on pins 2 & 3 of timer?
Which is + and - ?
What made you decide to ground green?
