hello grant
i cant seem to find these in the links or on line these seem really nice
looking for these for my 2015 e4 can you give me some info on these
these look like the best fit
The lights I posted a link for might not even be around any more the way electronics advance so fast. Knowing what I know now. I would totally spend the extra $ and buy the rigid D2 lights. They are WAY brighter than the Aux beam lights I played with. Do a search on you tube plenty of people showing the difference between the El cheep-0âs and the Name brand lights I think they are worth the extra money. Good luck with your search
Rigid Industries 202213BLK D-Series Midnight Optic Spot Light
Mine were something like this, 20W 6500K spot beam offroad light. they have lots of side light but the main beam is forward.
I had the same headlights for my 02.
My '10 has knockoffs of the Ridgid lights like Grant posted.
Emmy has H4/6004 led inserts because it has 6" Hella offroad lights stock and nothing would really fit where they are.
Lolz. Seems I already mentioned those lights 3-1/2 years ago.
I think these are it.Amazon.com: OZ-USA E-bike White LED Headlight High Output 6000K Compatible with Vamoose Mammoth Rad Power Bikes RadMini RadRover RadExpand RadRunner : Sports & Outdoors
2025 addition to this helpful thread. I went with these. Then to manage the âsquare peg in round holeâ aesthetic, I 3D printed a surround using flexible filament. Mounting is using longer 2" 5/16 stainless bolts. The bolts hold everything in place, the 3D print is mostly just for looks.
They are spots instead of floods. I aligned them as a stack in front of me. Much brighter than stock, but not âlight up the nightâ like a light bar or, perhaps, multi LED headlamps. Reminds me of a regular modern car on low beam. Works well for my application. Low draw. I think I measured 4 amps total for both headlights.
How cool. Are you Intrested in offering the File?
My brother started putting gem car related 3D printer items on a website where you can down load and print gem related files
You bet. I wanted to upload here, but didnât see where to upload stl files. I placed on thingiverse. Pretty simple file. Feel free to share/use without attribution. Would be interested in your brothers site!
Any 2025 links to LED replacement headlights? Looking for best plug and play options! Also, anyone know the LED bulb replacement for the rear license plate? If so, will it throw a code?
I use these for license plate light after deleting the bracket
Led for 2013 headlights
Forgot to mention, I have a 2006. Will this bulb fit the existing rear license plate socket and not cause a code? Iâm trying to stay as OEM as possible, but I know I will need to screw in some brackets for some front license plate replacements.
The classic body gems like yours are dumb as a box of rocks in those regards, the various GE controllers they used over the years really only had codes related to motor, throttle, battery functions and brakes iirc. There may have been a 'noid light on the pod, but I donât recall ever seeing that on my 2010 and I replaced all the lights with LEDs.
Hereâs what I can recall / find in my amazon history for lights on my old gems:
2002 longback (long bed âtruckâ 2-seat)
Headlights:
Tail (brake/turn)
swapped the bulbs out in the existing seat back (back of headrest) running & brake
Stuck an LED bulb in the license plate light, donât recall what bulb # though.
2010 eL (longbed truck, 2-seat)
Swapped the useless high/low lights in the hood for these wired to go on for both high/low headlight functions:
Put these on the bumper to come on also when the high beams were turned on:
@AssyRequired noticed there was wiring on the electrical prints for back up lights, so installed these in back - they sucked. Had to warranty them twice, they would leak and flood with water, and I seem to recall one of them the circuit board had a partial failure due to vibration so only the top half of the LEDs came on. Something like that.
Switched the 3rd brake light (on top of the cab) bulbs out for LED along with the license plate bulb, but donât remember what numbers.
The current 2015 eM1400 - went with Grote semi-trailer red ovals - running & brake/turn only - 4 or 5x the cost of those crappy Partasans, but they havenât failed. Added a Grote LED back up - donât remember the number, donât think any other GEM uses it. LED bulb in the license plate light and some barely legal for on-road use H4 LEDs for the headlights since they used Hella off-road rally lights that the LED upgrades are only sold in Europe at like $400 per light and the right model Ranger LED fitted hood would have cost even more
The ones that are $12.79 by Nilight are floods not spots. I just put a pair on my cargo trailer for work lights out the back end.. They are built well and very bright, but not spot lights. They are flood lights.
Thatâs just like your opinion, man.
Now that you mention it⌠I do recall them not having a âspotâ like range, but rather being defocused into being more like a long throw flood . Parabolic reflectors, but didnât seem like the LEDs were at the proper focal length for the reflector or the arc curve is off, possibly intentionally, so instead of acting like a MagLight which has no lens, creating a tight collimated beam when when you get the reflector in the right spot, we got a fairly even wash.
What would you say, like 50-60 degree spread? IIRC, they did kind of light the forward most tip / strip of the hood and light up the back of the bull bar on the tube bumper, which may not have been a GEM bumper and it was pushed out a bit more than the norm.
The LEDs I stuck in the 2002 had focusing reflectors and a convex lens for each LED (2 LED per fixture) and they would paint ellipses oni the ground if they were aimed to low
Ya know itâs funny, I have worked with LEDs and theater lights for so long, when I read spot light, I think of a more collimated beam. I bought them as floods, I needed them to be floods and with only two of them I lit up the next generation.. ⌠They do seem too wide to me to be spots.. but for the money, they are pretty well built and bright bright bright.. But now I have to pull my trailer out to the driveway and light them up and take a closer look.
