2008 E4. 2000 miles. LCD display suddenly shows 1 bar (red). Batteries check with full charge. Does the LCD display (0606-00419) often fail?
It may just need re-calibrated. Try the following:
SOC Reset
Turn the key on.
Push and release the TRIP/ODOMETER switch until it’s showing the
odometer.
While holding the switch down, turn the RIGHT signal on, then the LEFT
signal, then return the blinker to the center.
Release the TRIP/ODOMETER switch. You should be seeing data (P0105) on
the display now.
Turn the RIGHT signal on, then off repeatedly until the display reads:
SOC (State Of Charge).
Push and release the TRIP/ODOMETER switch. Now it’s remaining capacity in
percent.
You can now raise (or lower, for that matter) the SOC with the blinker
switch.
When you’re happy, Push and release the TRIP/ODOMETER switch. The display
reads: DONE.
Turn the key off.
Thank you. I will try that.
Or maybe the batteries are having issues?
Describe how you know the batteries are fully charged?
Are they in good condition?
Does it drive?
When plugged in to charge does it show progress and go full bars when finished?
It could be the SOC meter is being affected by a bad connection.
That worked MikeKC. Thanks so much. Wish the GEM experts in Flagstaff AZ could have figured that out before I removed the LCD. Still a great outcome.
Would that be NEV Accessories?
