For those of you that use your Gem car in the cold times of the year that Have either soft canvas or hard doors, you will find that when you block out the air from the sides (with your doors) it will THEN become apparent cold is creeping in from other areas. The biggest culprit I have found is from between the dash board and the window. Their is a small gap that grabs the air and forces it up your window. The air follows the curvature of the window and presents itself in your face. Try it for yourself place a towel in between the dash and the window you will notice 2 things #1 the wind go’s away and #2 the car will get a bit more quiet. It block out the road noise as well as the noise comming from the motor.
I found that 1/2 inch pipe insulation makes a great stop gap. If you tuck it in and push it down you can’t even see if from the front side of the window. 99c fix ain’t bad.
Now I find that the lower dash has air comming threw any tips !!
