The Gaps on the factory Gem Hard doors are pretty big. The Orignal gems had only 1 rubber seal on the door itself. Later they started adding a door seal to the car itself so technically, the door was double sealed. I did some measurements and a 3/4 wide x 3/4 tall seems to be a good factory replacement. I had some 1/2 X 1/2 laying around . This is the D shaped door seal with sticky back
The D” shaped rubber door seal I had laying around worked. But it’s just a tad too small to bridge the gap I need. The 3/4 x 3/4 that I ordered I’m order sure will do the trick. The factory Gem door seals looked to be like 2x as Expensive as doing it this way,
Wow… that’s great and also with the car being air tight the air inside will be warmer so that on cooler days it will raise the car slightly creating less drag… By my calculations you should get an extra 6 to 8 inches off of a full charge… MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!
After all this Door seal stuff is figured out I’m gonna have to find a good solution to plug the big Factory Holes in the floor. We did some puddle splashing last winter and my wife was like “my feet are wet” water splashed up threw the floor
