As technology improves there is no doubt these figures will change but at this moment in time the average efficiency for an electric motor is 90% which compares to just 25% to 35% for a combustion engine. While there are obviously other factors to take into consideration when buying an electric vehicle, these figures do say a lot about the potential for EV travel.
