Lagoon 440 Hybrid Electric Catamaran
Vehicle Description
This boat is a pristine owners version for 440 with a Solomon electric propulsion system. It has a tall mast and has been used sparingly over the last two years. The owner has supervised the installation of a dive compressor, an Onan 220 V 9KW generator, four separately controlled Cruiseair heat pump air conditioning units, a Spectra 1000 water maker as well as electronic upgrades to include two Ray Marine E120 chart displays. Specifications coming soon Specifications will be posted tonight. It is equipped with a cruising spinnaker and sock, new tramps, new Doyle stack pack, full cushions, cockpit enclosure, and advanced Marine inflatable catamaran and dinghy and 20 Hp outboard. This boat has made one Atlantic crossing and has sailed to Bermuda and the Bahamas. It is located in Cape May New Jersey and available for inspection. It is powered by two twelve Hp Solomon electrics via a 144 V battery bank which is recharged by a Fisher Panda 17KW diesel generator. It is a true regeneration system that recharges the main battery bank under sail. This type system is as green as it gets and sacrifices no performance compared to standard diesel propulsion. This boat motors more quietly than its sails due to the cocooned fisher panda and the electric motors.

Impressive; I’ve seen another simular setup that had the entire top covered with about 6KW of solar panels. When I see one under $100K I might get one. This is out of my league.
