Handset wiring

I never pull on the wires. I pry it loose with my pocket knife. I’ll go with your pull string though.

I was thinking if you could attach a Heavy duty fishing line or a light weight stainless cable and a small hole drilled into or next to the push tab. Anything to keep you from pulling on the wires.
Depending on how quickly you can make them I could use a cable for a T-1 right away. And if they are cheep enough then I would buy extras.
I don’t know if I’ll be successful.
The parts should be in Wed.

How about a third opinion of my diagram?

Have to admit most projects don’t fly the first try. :o

Any interest in an extension cable? M-F

Leave connected for easy access!

I can’t double check your diagram. But Rodney what do u think?

He ok’ed it!

His diagram and my cables match. My cables are factory and I have used them both.

Also verified by another member in pm:

"looking at the back of the 8 pin plug with the lock at the top:
from top left to right : blue/brown/black/red
bottom left to right : green/orange grey/yellow

looking at bottom of handset plug, with clip on bottom, left to right:
grey/orange/black/red/green/yellow/blue/brown "

The 8-pin cable seems ok.
More work than I thought.
Should I list my codes here, or should I pm them for your thoughts?

Only 15 functions on my LX.

As far as your thoughts on pulling plug. I would not trust pulling by wires either.

I used a standard pliers to depress release and pull up.

I ran into trouble following my goofy reverse drawing of the 12 pin.:o

Here is another drawing of 12 pin. (left picture bottom part)
And my finished cable. (right picture, white = grey)

So were you going to make cables to sell?

Im intrested in a 8 pin for a T-1 about to call Flight Systems, Should I hold off?

Not sure.

I do have a couple extra right now.

I’ll pm you.

Cables seem to be working out. (handset)
Waiting to hear from a beta tester!

My next quest is using Sentry sw on T1 controller, which does not have RS232 built in.

First test is promising.
I have a cable, driver, and sw working on win7/64. Simple USB to pins 22 and 23, adapter/level shifter.
Parts are common and cheap.
I’m relatively computer illiterate, yet it worked first try. (I am good with hardware):o

Next will be a clone of the “forklift” kit less sw. ("Forklift’ still sells Sentry for about $40) A serial port, to T1, circuit board, and pins 22 and 23.

All ready had the parts ordered, but who uses serial port anymore? So the USB adapter may be more useful.

Picture of 25’ cable that I ran to my desktop.
3p molex from controller on right and usb on left.
Future build will skip the molex. Go direct to usb from controller. So it will be as if the T1 has a USB port for programming and monitor functions.

I’m thinking that the long cable version may be popular.
Do as I did, and run it from garage to desktop. Keep the computer out of garage.

Here are some screen shots of T1 as programmed by IMS.

Any one know what higher functions, spares, and and OEM codes are?

GE 353-T1 controller to USB port cable for use with Sentry sw.

I made it into a kit and listed it on Ebay.
If there is interest I can make more.

I’m using brand name parts from USA supplier. Plan to test some cheap imports. If they work, I would have very little invested.

Next week I’ll have circuit boards back for 353-T1 to serial port dongles.
Forklift no longer makes them.

???

The LX hand set has at least 45 functions probably more. You have to put the turf/run switch in the right positions and use the cont button with the # buttons past 15.

Hey FYI I received a T-1 cable from “inwo” and it looks great Quality cable looks factory and more then 1/2 the price.

Thank You

Grant

Thank you.

Please excuse my obsession with electronics. It’s my nature.

I haven’t learned enough to make changes yet!

My performance seem pretty close to what I want.
Only runs 28 but set to 42 top speed. 3.5hp stock.
Field current is at min. = 70 I think.

Would be nice if it plugged more and sooner.
Might turn the acc. down a little. It chirps the tires, now.

The monitor/graphing function is nice with sw over handset.
Also file sharing is easy.
Someone could copy their “hot motor” R4F settings.

The Scorpion and the Frog

A scorpion and a frog meet on the bank of a stream and the
scorpion asks the frog to carry him across on its back. The
frog asks, “How do I know you won’t sting me?” The scorpion
says, “Because if I do, I will die too.”

The frog is satisfied, and they set out, but in midstream,
the scorpion stings the frog. The frog feels the onset of
paralysis and starts to sink, knowing they both will drown,
but has just enough time to gasp “Why?”

Replies the scorpion: "Its my nature..."

Hi all,
I’m just starting to read up on programming my 2001 GEM (I just want to slow down Turf mode). No problem making my own cables, but so far I’ve been unable to find the part number for the 12-pin plug. Can anyone ID that part?

Also, since I just got my vehicle a few months ago, I don’t know if the settings have been changed before. Is there a list of factory default settings for the T2?

Thanks much!
