I’m thinking about getting a GEM vehicle.Anyone with experience, comments or suggestions?Now that Fiat has taken over do they plan to keep making them?

May I suggest looking at a used one? The new ones are sooo pricey, you can deck your older model out for half the price. The biggest model change was in 2005 so I’d you want the more modern version, look for 2005 and newer. Dealers charge a bunch, another reason used is better.

We just got a used one from 2005 with a lot of extras like hard doors and a trunk for around $6000 from a dealer. It has fairly new gel batteries, so I think it will work for a while. We had another electric car that I built with the help of Art Haines, and we will miss it.
I hope the GEM is as fun as our SUNNev.
