Thanks in advance. I have a 2001 E825. I want to run and a lead to a USB port fir phone etc via a fuse tap from fuse box. My question is can i ground USB panel to frame
Sure- Chassis Gnd (frame) is 12vNeg for accessories.
But more important, where do you plan on picking up your 12vPos?
(hint- Do not simply tap off one of your batteries)

Under the dash to the right of the controller taped in the harness you will find a purple wire and a black wire. This is for 12 volt accessories. Each wire will have two female spade terminals so you can run two devices. Note the purple wire is hot ONLY when key is on. The black is ground. Your usb port assy. should step the 12 down to the 5v internally. Make sure this. Is so or you will fry your phone.
