Help, i am looking for a motor for a Ford think. I have contacted D&D motor, and they are just giving me the run around. is there any other source to replace the motor for these things?

Is the motor really dead-dead?
Most people find a local shop that can give it a rebuild/refresh and are good to go?

The field windings are shorted to the case. I get approximately 55 Volts to the chassis of the vehicle.
I can not find any one local to rebuild it. Located in Denver, CO
