Charging inlet cord replacement 2008 GEM4

Yeah, I agree.

The one possible catch with the twist lock bulkhead shore power connector is that it’s probably a rigid mounting plate designed for a flat surface. It may lay flat in the stock location on the hood, or may not, I don’t know, I no longer have a 72V GEM to look at, On my 2002 longback truck model, the shore power connector was on the front of the bench seat frame, basically between the drivers legs, which was a pretty flat surface. And you could pass the 120VAC extension cord through the steering wheel and let it hang down to take the strain off the bulkhead plug. Although the previous operators still managed to rip the ground pin out…

There has to be a West Marine store somewhere in your area Doug, maybe they have some options for twist lock shore power connections that you can view and grab a manufacturer and model number off of.

If I had to redo this on a multi-user vehicle, I’d also look into magnetic break-away connectors for the bulkhead and power cord end, because you just know someone is going to eventually tie an overhand knot or zip-tie the edison plugs together between the twist-lock pigtail and the extension cord and eventually drive off with it attached or someone will trip on it and rip the whole thing to bits since the twist lock won’t let go…
