I had installed new adjustable shocks from NEV on the front and liked the ride. I just did the same for the rear. I tried to adjust the shock by rotating the collar with the provided tool. It seems awfully hard to turn. Am I missing something? It ships in what seems like position I, which I assume is the softest setting?
That only adjusts pre-load and ride height.
Yes, turns hard. I use a big channel lock, not having the correct tool.
Dave is Correct. To put it lame man terms. Adjusting the shocks up stiffens the first 1-1/2 inch of shock travel.
Example if you adjusted the shocks to the softest position when you take the car off the Jack and set the car under it own weight the car will sag the most. And the opposite is true. If you were to adjust the shocks to the stiffest position and take the car off the jack, the car will hardly sag and the ride height be the highest or the least amount of sag.

That’s harsh, dude. Really harsh.
Just because a guy’s got a bit of limp when they walk…
