The purpose of this forum is the further the discussion around electric vehicles. Lets discuss GEM by Polaris.
Hi my name is Lee and I work as a cart driver and wanna be technician with 5 gem e6’s to keep “on the road” I’m dealing with charging issues, brake and suspension issues. Lighting, steering, alignment, and other drivers that take for granted that these things keep running. They are Gems, from 2013, and up. 72 volt 48 volt and 36 volt carts. Keeping the batteries in good condition is my main problem as these carts are people movers and we run 24 hours a day. I could use all the help you are willing to give and it would all be appreciated.
Several people have listed a stuttering or shattering of the cart when starting out from stop position. My 2015 gem is having the same problem. However, I did not receive any follow up as to whether the suggestions that were posted two years ago are working. The car does not stutter 100% of the time when starting up from a stopped position. The shattering seems to be rhythmic and seems to be coincident with the RPM of the wheels. I have replaced the speed sensor and accelerator mechanism, the drive shafts both left and right, the tie bar ends.
My mechanic has opened up the differential and does not see any malfunction within the differential and the gears therein.
Someone had suggested the motor. I will order a new motor but it is $850 plus shipping and I am not certain whether this is the actual problem. I am desperate for a practical solution.

Now you see the value in coming back to report on how well a suggestion works (or not) or posting a follow up. Even coming back six months later would be a good way to close a topic.
As to your own issue (stuttering), Instead of tacking onto the obscure/non related issue here, I suggest starting your own thread and get personal tips to resolve your problem.
