2017 E6 windshield super "foggy" at night

Is anyone else having any an issue where the front windshield gets super foggy at night where you can’t even see out of it when driving at night.

Just got a this GEM and since got it the windshield has been doing this if we go to dinner, park the cart, come back a few hours later around 8 or 9pm and the windshield is nearly impossible to see out of. Even after wiping down both sides with a microfiber and also after keeping it super clean.

RainX anti-fog has always worked for me in the past

EAD Walmart. Cant you see this is serious bidness? Someone needs help on the internets…

It’s tough to do on an e-car, but you need to heat up the windshield. Once that thing gets chilled it will attract the moisture out of the air.

Could always stop the heavy breathing.

…i know not as much fun…

yeah that seems to be the issue… has anyone tried this: Amazon.com: 2 In 1 Portable Car Heater and Fan, 2026 New 360° Rotation Plug-in Space Car Heaters for Vehicle for Winter, Upgrade 12V Fast Heating Car Defroster Windshield Heater All-Weather Use (1, Black 12V) : Automotive

That would take all the fun out of it…

That is the right idea. It gives you the flexibility to direct it where you need it.
This product does not say how much it draws tho. Be careful about over driving your DC Converter in the car or adding another one specifically for this kind of thing.

There is always propane…

A few people have done that here.

Did they discontinue the heater /defogger kits? My 10eL had one and so does my 15eM. Both run the heaters from the traction battery at system voltage (72 & 48 respectively) Not the most effective with the limited space to place the fan vents but helpful when they work.. Kind of expensive from the dealer but sometimes you see them on eBay for a discount.

Not the most effective

That is why I never considered these as “cabin heaters” but more as windshield heaters.

Propane heaters in a cab (assuming there are doors) will actually make the problem worse than heavy petting. But then you probably aren’t worrying about staying on the road.

Cabin heater for a leaky uninsulated shoebox.

eM cabs have full gasketing. Its funny when you think about it… its just a 2wd electric polaris ranger 500…

Doors on the classics at least were double wall. The eM is a body by rubbermaid. Single sheet plastic and tube steel on the inside.

Hey check these out. I added fans to my dash years ago and they are awesome. They rotate 360 and up and down so you can direct them where ever you have issues. I ran a catalytic propane heater in my car and that works, but the fans are much more effective and work almost instantly.. summer or winter you will use these

If you go to Walmart and get a pair of. Battery powered socks, then you can duct tape them to your windshield and keep it warm.

if anyone wants to sell a Heater/Defogger unit I am down to buy it.

I don’t personally know of any 48v units at the moment, but i would say maybe post in the wtb and keep an eye on ebay.

I believe it says it is 150w. So that is a chunk of current, 12.5amps worth

2016 and up have windshield defrost option. Of course you would have to replace the windshield. Hard way to add it. The 2024 and up models require the heated windshield if you get the heated cab option because of the fogging issue. My wife wanted the heater and they wouldn’t let me order without the windshield heat. I don’t really care for all the little wires going through the glass. Rear window is also heated with defrost option now.

The socks? … . . .
.

ha ha.. the heater.. Byron said he could find any current draw
