The old charger definitely does not charge the batteries that are now in there now - I tried before I bought the current charger and nothing. There is more info on this (old charger) that I need to get from the person who sold me the GEM and I’ll pass that along. There was a very specific reason he stated that the old charger couldn’t be programmed for lead acid batteries. I’ll get that info when I see him…
I spoke to my friend who sold me the GEM and he said when he bought it, the guy who sold it to him said the charger was “trash” and wasn’t charging the AGM batteries (he bought it with the intentions of flipping it - which I knew prior to buying it from him). At that point when he sold it to me, he wanted to be up front and he let me know it would need a new charger. So I’m thinking now the safe assumption is that the original charger is not functioning properly. I’ve used the GEM today a few times and the turtle is gone, hopefully never to return.
