Hello, I have a 2007 gem e2 with a code 82, would a speed sensor magnet that’s cracked cause this? Also, the vehicle drives but it shows no mph on display & it cuts.
Thanks,
Bert

Code 82 is an overcurrent problem. If you get heavy over current for 3 1/2 seconds it will cut out and display this code. Do you have oversize wheels and have this happen under severe driving loads?
No MPH can be a busted magnet or failed sensor.
Thanks for the reply, I don’t have oversized wheels and the problem occurred under normal operating conditions. I’m going to replace the speed sensor magnet since it is cracked and also the speed sensor for good measure. What causes an over current problem. The motor?
Did more reading on this. A bad tach sensor or busted magnet COULD be the cause of your problem.
Hello, so the speed sensor and magnet fix my problem, thank you for all the help,
Bert
Where do you get parts? I need to try to replace my speed sensor. A local GEM mechanic told me you had to replace the whole motor. Doesn’t sound like that’s the case.
thanks
Ebay has them
