Got an interesting issue with the Zivan charger on my working '02 E2. If I plug in the charger with the e-brake applied, the battery disconnect closed, and the key in the off position, nothing happens. If I put a multimeter across the output terminals, I just see the battery pack’s current voltage - which does not change if I leave the charger alone for ~45 minutes.
But as soon as I put the e-brake down, the charger starts squealing away with an alarm. The battery LED does not light up though. I have verified that the battery LED comes on when I turn the car on - during the initial “boot up” after I turn off the e-brake and turn on the key, it displays the battery percentage and the battery LED lights up green. The knob on top of the charger is set to “F”, but the alarm does not go away on any other position.
Any suggestions? Or is it just dead?
