Trubleshoot electric system

Hello everybody, As of today I’m a new member. I do not think I can send PM’s. I was reading some of the comments and notice that some members are able to share service manuals. My son has a 2016 GEM E6 Cart and is trying to find the service and maintenance manuals. He has a serious electrical problem and needs to troubleshoot. I anyone can help we will be very grateful. You can e-mail to me if you prefer at hcasanoba@yahoo.com Thank you so much!

My son tells me that the 12 volt auxiliary battery is not charging. The other AGM batteries bank charges OK and shows over 52 volts. When he connects a fully 12 v auxiliary charged battery everything shows power, but it does not move forward or reverse. The dial shows a small flashing wrench icon. We figure that with the schematic we can trace the circuits. The problem is that the system is 48V and we only find 72 V system. Any suggestion will be highly appreciated, Thank You.

Ok let’s start from the error codes,

Press the black button on the display scroll till it shows “vehicle Fault” then press and hold the black button and it will display the fault

Post it here.

Regarding the aux battery, it’s charged via the dc dc converter that is located under the speed controller under the hood, the connector tends to fail and the pins don’t make proper connection. There is an easy fix squeezing the female connector pins with a flat Screw driver to make them tight.

The aux battery voltage should Raise to ~13.5v when ignition is ON

Thanks, my son will come tonight and try that.

We followed your suggestion, it showed low battery. Bought a 12V auxiliary battery and it was not charging. My son checked the DC to DC converter and cleaned all contacts, connected again and got 13.3 volts and it was charging. He put the car in forward and it made a short move. Tried a second time and it kicked a little forward. Did not move any more and showed this Code: 65613. Left it alone for today.

Sorry, have been away for while with health issues. About that last post, we installed an accelerator pedal and used the car for a short ride. Everything seems to be good, but if the accelerator is pressed slowly all works. The problem now is that when its pressed a little faster we hear a click and the relay stops the motor, and no acceleration an it slows down. Within seconds it clicks back and it continues again if pressed slowly. We press accelerator again and same click and after a few seconds it clicks back as a reset. Happens every time. Any suggestions are welcomed. My son thinks that because he got a Ebay pedal for 60 dollars it is not original. I do not agree with him.

Bad battery maybe. Monitor voltage.

Agree with Inwo here. It looks like you have been focused on the small Aux battery.
What is the State of the Main Drive Battery? It sounds like it is in need of a charge. Don’t just look at the dash, Put a meter on it and report back with a reading.
Monitor what happens when you plug it in to charge. Verify that both batteries are properly charging. Get another read after a full charge cycle.

Would it be possible to get the wiring diagram for a 2020 E2? Swapped out the front frame on ours because it was bent and must have plugged something back in wrong. Getting low battery on the dash, no signal voltage at the front contactor. 48v pack is reading 50v and I am getting 50v at the contactor. It was running just prior to the frame swap. 12v battery was low but charging it up did not appear to solve the issue.

Thank You for fast response. Actually one of the batteries is not accepting full charge. It takes charge but does not retain. Probably bad. Funny thing, my son took it for ride and it did the tripping of the relay contactor as before. Pressing slow and easy on the accelerator worked but top speed maximum was no more than 20 MPH at full pedal. After 3 miles running it miraculously stopped tripping the relay. Now it does not cut off anymore. We will see what happens when we test drive again.

I also try to get manuals or even i would pay for better service. I got it from my area mechanic and still i got issues. My car is Nissan Leaf.
