My cart recently started to slow on the top end from 28 to 23 mph. The lipos are good showing full charge 78volts the cells show balanced. The temperature sensors has been tied together. the tires are inflated and the wheels spin free with no drag. I have the Mm. Speed limiter override installed. The motor seems to loose a bit of power at the top end and when climbing hills. I have a D-d motor sport torque and speed motor installed about a year ago. I checked the speed sensor on the end of the motor and it’s clean. No error codes. Any thoughts where to look.
Need more info to make an accurate/informed decision.
What cart is this? (year, model)
What Lipos? (What battery pack is this?)
What is the cell count? 78v does not sound very full.
What BMS are you using?
Suggestion/homework for you:
Put a meter across your pack to establish unloaded PackV.
Then run (or do a brake stand test) to determine V under load.
Place meter across POS and NEG directly on your motor controller and run again to determine if there is any drop between pack and controller.
If there is much difference, then there is a bad cable/connection that may be limiting your speed. Hint/this bad connection may be getting warm/even hot. Look for heat damage.
