Hey guys. I am a college student in Nebraska and we build and race electric vehicles. Its called Powerdrive. I heard from someone that Eteks are designed to run on 48V and since we only run 24V that we could remove some of the brushes to allow the motor to run more efficiently. That is the basic idea of the program is to produce the most efficient vehicle possible. Anyone ever heard of this before? Thought I would ask around before blowing up a motor. Ha Ha! Thanks guys.
Removing brushes wouldn’t give you more power, it would give you less. You would end up running fewer windings at once. This means the resistance would go up causing amperage to go down.
